Sims 2 & Babies

A question often asked on Yahoo! Answers is: can Sims have babies for consoles such as the ps2?

So far only on the pc version Sims can have babies and never heard otherwise.I do not have any Sims games for the newer consoles -only Sims for psp so I know on that one sims can’t have babies.  If anyone else know otherwise, please advise and thanks in advance for the help.
