Will The Sims 4 Get Together expansion pack bring lasting excitement to gameplay?

So far the Sims 4 has been a bit boring. Granted I do not have much time to play but nothing so far has made me want to play either. I did try all the new stuff pack and each career in Get To Work but that still was not enough to bring me back to the game.
Will The Sims 4 Get Together expansion pack bring lasting excitement to gameplay? The best addition for me is the Sims 4 game pack Spa Day and it is where I make my Sims hang out the most. I love all the new content it brought out, especially the yoga and meditation skills.

I ended up playing The Sims 4 the whole weekend because I got an idea of using some of the Sims to illustrate a short story. It was quite fun to create the characters and I enjoyed re-modelling the houses. That was one thing in all the Sims instalments that I can remember, I had real difficulties placing walls and roofs. When weather came out, most of the time it was raining inside my Sims’ house and therefore I ended up tiling the floors to fix the holes. In Sims 4 I have to admit, modifying a house is a breeze and I was able to remodel a 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom to a 4-bedroom, 2-bathrooms because who wants to share the bathroom with the kids and kids want their own bedroom. And with big families in the Sims, you need 2 bathrooms anyway. All of sudden I was very pleased with my newfound building skills 😉

As I created two families with kids and teens, once again I got stuck on nothing much to do. They go to work, school, eat, do homework, do tasks for their job, shower, and watch TV. But there is not much else to do in term of activities. Sure they can play chess, paint or bake. Nothing that I could see to add to my teens’ room to make it a cool bedroom to hang-out with their friends. So one thing I am really looking forward in the Get Together expansion, is the walk-in closet and these are the options:

[checklist icon=”fa-check” iconcolor=”” circle=”” circlecolor=”” size=”14px” class=”” id=””] [li_item icon=””]Woohoo/Try for Baby[/li_item] [li_item icon=””]Make Out[/li_item] [li_item icon=””]Kids can play inside the closet[/li_item] [li_item icon=””]Cry Inside (Embarrassed or Sad Sims)[/li_item] [li_item icon=””]Try on Outfits[/li_item] [li_item icon=””]Change Outfit of Other Sims[/li_item] [li_item icon=””]Plan Outfit[/li_item] [li_item icon=””] 1×2 and 2×2 options[/li_item] [/checklist]

Not that it does a whole lot more but I reckon it is still a nice little touch in a bedroom and I can foresee some funky storylines… I don’t think I will be using any of the standard closets anymore.

So I am really hoping this new expansion Get Together will bring enough fun stuff to do. I really like the look of the new venues and it seems to be a reasonable and worthy expansion to the core game which has been lacking since launch. Players were begging for pools and they got them back, but did that make the game any more fun to play? I doubt it. Or at least it did nothing to my gameplay.

The Cafe Venue with new Barista NPC and Espresso Machine! Now you can meet up for a Latte and croissants?! I love it! Sims can have a “For Here” or “To Go” coffee and pastries. When the purchase is a “To Go” it will be in your Sims inventory…
New pastries: scone, croissant, Pain au chocolat and cannoli.
Drinks: Expresso, cappuccino, Mericano, café latte, mocha, perfect pre-work shot, macchiato and the barista’s recommendation.

I am not sure what exactly the Community Pool Venue will add to the game play, besides new decorations. Are there new interactions that will make it interesting for your Sims? They can jump off a rock and skinny dip… But the venue does look awesome.

We will be getting a Pub venue which shows off the changes to the bar scenes and nightclubs. It is great to see the new games: Darts, Foosball, and Don’t Wake the Llama. Now that is a good incentive to take your Sims out.

The bluffs is the one venue I am really looking forward to. It looks so cool and might be the best place for your Sims to hang out, maybe even a brilliant hideout for teens? Apparently there is an elusive sea monster to be seen… Will it be the equivalent of the unicorns in the Sims 3 Pets?
The Von Haunt Estate is a landmark building and a museum which is great as I can get rid of that useless museum in Willow Creek.
I am assuming The Ancient Ruins are on the Bluffs Island. Wherever it is, it looks even better than the nightclub venue.

Has anyone given some thought to what type of clubs you’re going to create? I’ll have my teens create the Step Up club for the ultimate street dancers team 🙂 And I’ll have a coffee snob club for my adults of course.
